See it first, see it free!
Be the first to see DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition, a new exhibition opening to the public on Saturday 12 December.
From the studio that brought you the animated classics Shrek, Madagascar, and Kung Fu Panda comes an exhibition exclusive to Te Papa – a behind the scenes celebration of 20 years of DreamWorks Animation.
DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition features over 400 items, including rare concept drawings, models, interviews, and original artworks. Adults and kids can get creative with real animation tools, and soar above the clouds in the immersive Dragon Flight experience from How to Train Your Dragon.
Optional talk at 4pm – 4.30pm in Soundings Theatre.
THIS TALK IS NOW CANCELLED (Doug Cooper is no longer able to travel to New Zealand)
Doug Cooper, Special Effects Supervisor, DreamWorks Animation SKG has flown in from California in support of the exhibition, and will give a talk on how he brings animation to life, and Russell Briggs, ACMI’s Head of Exhibitions & Collections will tell us why ACMI thought this was such an important journey to create.
The preview is members only and you will be asked to show your current membership card for free entry. If you wish to bring a non-member they can join at the exhibition and attend the preview.
No need to register to attend. The preview is open between 4pm and 7pm on Friday 11 December.
