Once a year, the Friends of Te Papa hold an Annual General Meeting. It’s a meeting for all of you to receive a report from the executive committee on what the Friends have done during the year, specifically, what the executive committee has done on members’ behalf and to question the committee on what has happened in the previous year. It also allows members to elect the members of the committee for the next year. So, it is your opportunity to participate in the affairs of the Friends. You are warmly invited to do so.
This year our guest speaker will be Lisa Tipping, the chief operating officer of Te Papa. Te Papa is a complex organization, so Lisa’s is a very responsible position. She will give us a spoken back-of-house tour of some aspects of her portfolio which should be of interest to all members.
Since I will be completing my three years as president of the Friends of Te Papa at the AGM, this will be my last column. I would like to thank all the members of the committee and the office staff over the last three years for their efforts on behalf of the Friends in giving members a wonderfully varied programme of events showing what Te Papa has on offer.
Koenraad Kuiper,
President.
