Stonehenge – Old Rocks, New Theories

Monday 24 February, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

$25.00 – $35.00

***SOLD OUT***In this talk archaeologist, author and BBC broadcaster Julian Richards will explore Stonehenge, arguably the most famous stone circle in the world. Starting with an examination of its unique structure he will explore the big questions: how it was built, who built it and, perhaps the most intriguing – why?

While exploring past ideas, Julian will draw on recent discoveries and the results of new scientific analysis to offer our current understanding of this enigmatic monument to the beliefs and ingenuity of our ancient ancestors.

Dr Julian Richards FSA is a UK based archaeologist, author and broadcaster on both BBC TV and radio. He has been involved in studying Stonehenge and its surrounding landscape for over 40 years and is the author of a number of publications, including the current English Heritage guidebook to the monument. He is currently filming a documentary series exploring the whole history of Stonehenge.
