Engage in conversation with two local artists at Alan Aldridge’s dealer gallery in Upper Cuba Street.
The Kiwi Art House Gallery is owned and operated by Alan Aldridge. Alan says: “Our emphasis is on paintings from well-known and developing Wellington artists, but we also represent some international artists resident in New Zealand and other artists from around the country”.
Escha van den Bogerd will talk about her current exhibition, ‘Watching the Old Masters.’ Escha is a Dutch artist living and working in Wellington. These paintings are reminders of personal memories of the artist and for many of us, a reminder of when we first viewed that special old master, one we had seen in books, thought about many times and always wanted to see for real. Now with Escha we not only relive that moment, but start to think about what is going through the minds of her characters, in their own story, as they watch entranced.
Alan Aldridge will then introduce another Wellington artist, Dianne Taylor who will talk about what inspires her work. Dianne started painting watercolours seriously in her 50s, and in just a short time has become a sought after and hugely admired master of what artists consider the most difficult of mediums. Recently she has been painting acrylics on canvas in a style similar to her watercolours.
Limited seating will be available. Booking is essential as numbers are limited.
