Meet Lissa, Athol and Justine and hear about their interests and current research at Te Papa.
Lissa Mitchell: Ongoing Moments – Collecting Historical Photography
With so many photographs being taken today, is collecting worthwhile?
Athol McCredie: Life was their Subject – New Zealand Personal Documentary Photography 1965-1975
Contemporary art photography as we know it today was founded by photographers inspired by the alternative cultural values of their time into making photography a personal pursuit.
Justine Olsen: Unpacking John Crichton – From Collecting to Exhibiting
Te Papa has been actively acquiring John Crichton’s designs. Based in Auckland, he created modernist interiors that helped define the look and feel of the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Each curator will speak for about 20 minutes on their chosen topic, followed by questions and an opportunity for further discussion over a glass of wine.
