A highlight of the recent tour to Hawke’s Bay was the visit to the studio and showroom for David Trubridge, one of New Zealand’s most internationally celebrated designers. We are now offering to transport you to Pataka to see David Trubridge – So Far. Showcasing many of his most significant pieces, the exhibition tells the story of Trubridge’s development over the last four decades.
Following the viewing at Pataka, the bus will take us to the Dowse to see Wunderrūma: New Zealand Jewellery which brings together over 200 pieces by more than 75 contemporary New Zealand jewellers and artists, as well as Māori taonga and Pacific and historical European jewellery. The exhibition is curated by Warwick Freeman and Karl Fritsch, two of New Zealand’s most prominent jewellers. They say: “Wunderrūma is not a history of New Zealand jewellery or pronouncement on contemporary making in this country. Instead, it reflects what two artists see from their viewpoints (local and international) when they look at adornment in Aotearoa New Zealand.”
