His Excellency Mr Michael Potts, Australia’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, has generously offered to host a special cocktail evening for the Friends of Te Papa on Wednesday 6 May, to be held at the High Commission, 72-76 Hobson Street, Thorndon.
This will be a wonderful occasion to celebrate the opening of Gallipoli: The scale of our war, the special focus on ANZAC and our close relationship with our Australian friends and neighbours across the water. We know you will enjoy the opportunity to meet the High Commissioner and his wife Lynda and other Friends.
Our cocktail function is also to raise funds for our acquisition programme enabling us to contribute to Te Papa’s collections. The cost for the reception is $65 for members and $75 for guests. A portion of the ticket will be a contribution to the fund and will be receipted accordingly. If you are unable to attend and would like to contribute, there is provision on the registration form to make a donation or to purchase raffle tickets. Prizes include an exclusive back-of-house tour, the 2 volume Complete trees and shrubs of New Zealand by Audrey Eagle and more.
Numbers are limited so please register early.
