Friends of Te Papa are delighted to invite you to an exclusive members-only viewing of Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery, accompanied by a special Curators introduction and guided tour of the exhibition. Designed by the fashion house of Vivienne Westwood and produced by Nomad Exhibitions, this exhibition invites you to immerse yourself in the extensive jewellery design of Vivienne Westwood, through a series of specially curated rooms. Join Claire Regnault, Senior Curator New Zealand History & Culture, for an introductory talk on Te Papa’s glittering summer exhibition. Best known as a fashion designer and activist, Westwood began her design career as a jeweller at the Portobello Market in London and became famous for her DIY clothing and jewellery during the punk period. As she developed as a designer, jewellery came to play an increasingly significant role in her dramatic catwalk shows.
